Whatcha Reading Weekend: Take 7

OK first of all, my husband is superman.

The other night, he sat in our cold garage on the hard floor and replaced my break pads.

The brake pad on the left was my brake pad.  The one on the right is the new one.  Yikes … looks like they were more than ready to be replaced!

Thank you, husband, for keeping me and my car safe! Red heart

Anywho, is everyone ready for the weekend? Thumbs up

We’re planning on decorating our house for Christmas this weekend.

(What I wish our house looked like at Christmas.)

Yes, it’s early.  But we’re celebrating Christmas early with my mom in Florida, so I felt the need to get into the Christmas spirit!

(I’m still trying to convince Brandon that my theory makes sense. Who me?)

Now let’s talk about what I’ve been reading this week!

1. I recently discovered Skinny Runner and I think I may be borderline obsessed.  Well, maybe not obsessed, but fascinated.  This girl ran a full marathon (that’s 26.2 miles, people) on a Saturday in Savannah, and then traveled to NYC and completed the New York marathon on Sunday! Surprised smile Two marathons in one weekend?  Who does that?!  And evidently this is normal behavior for her.  Plus, she’s completely hilarious.  You just need to go ahead and spend some time perusing her sight.

2. Janelle at Running is Magical wrote a great post about being a slow runner.  I completely relate to her, and I want to join her in her attempt to start speed training! Thumbs up

3. Sam at Fitness, Food, & Faith posted a super-easy recipe for slow-cooker pulled pork sandwiches.  A delicious meal using only 4 ingredients?  Sign me up!

4. I’m not cooking a Thanksgiving turkey this year (I’m letting my mom handle that one), but I found this article on turkey brining really interesting.  If anyone is planning on making your family’s turkey this year, you might want to check it out!

5. Although I hate to admit that I am interested in celebrities and their personal lives, I kinda am. Who me?  And I was bummed to see last night that another celebrity couple has opted for divorce. Sad smile  Surprised?  No.  But disappointed, yes.

6. And to end on a happy note, go check out Jessica’s blog to see a recipe for “Sweet Potato Pie Cupcakes with Marshmallow Frosting.”  Wow.

Have a great weekend everyone! Smile

I do get totally sad when I see another celeb couple divorce. I mean, they are in teh spotlight, so people look up to them. I really wish they could set a better example!! Obviously marriage is tough and is probably tougher int eh spotlight, but shouldnt your marriage be the ONE thing you fight for over your fame and career? Gosh! SO frustrating

I am totally ashamed of how much celebrity knowledge I have crammed in my tiny brain. And it isn’t even on purpose, I’m just really good at remembering that stuff. Shame. Also, I wish my husband knew how to fix our cars. That is so cool!

He doesn’t know everything about cars, but he’s learned a little from his dad. It definitely comes in handy!
