As I mentioned on Monday, my appetite has been fairly ravenous recently. But I’ve just been going with it, since I’m making (mostly) healthy choices.
Today, here’s a look at what a pregnancy lady (at least this pregnant lady) eats on a typical day.
(Keep in mind, this is a “good” day. You can look back on my vacation post to see that I’m not always so virtuous!)

As always, go to Jenn’s blog for more What I Ate Wednesday fun!
Breakfast:
Old faithful: peanut butter and banana on whole-wheat toast. Served with a glass of 1% milk and a glass of water.
Daytime snacks:
The top picture speaks for itself. The bottom picture shows one of my current favorite snacks, frozen grapes. Don’t let the small amount fool you … I had already eaten several before I snapped the pic. ![]()
Lunch:
I sautéed some garlic and onion in a little olive oil, then added in sliced chicken sausage and cooked it all up until the sausage was nice and brown. Then I added in the spinach at the last minute. Served it with mashed sweet potatoes (from a box … I wasn’t feeling that motivated!). Delicious! ![]()
Dinner:
Raw broccoli and cauliflower dipped in ranch +
I made Amy’s Southwestern Skillet Chicken Chili Mac. Click on the link for her recipe. I followed the recipe exactly, except I used whole-wheat penne pasta, because that’s what I had in the house.
This recipe was delicious. It reminded me of a pasta version of one of my more popular blog recipes, Slow-Cooker Chicken Taco Soup. It was spicy and mega-flavorful.
It felt a little weird to be eating Mexican pasta (I never would have put the two together!), but it was a happy weird. ![]()
Evening Snack:
A bowl of Kashi Oat Flakes & Blueberry Clusters (milk added post-pic), plus one more piece of toast with peanut butter.
Well, I guess that’s it for today, my friends! I hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!
Question for ya …

Wow, that definitely is a really good day of eating! Thanks for linking back to a slow cooker recipe. I got a Crock Pot for Christmas and so I’ve been searching for recipes for it like mad.

YUM! You eat very similar to the way I eat. And isn’t chicken sausage great? I went through a phase when I used it all the time for easy lunches + lightened-up dinners. I need to remember to buy some next time I’m at the store!

I saw it (chicken sausage) recently on Julie’s blog, and it made me remember to go buy some. Like you said, it’s so easy and delicious!
Mmm I love frozen grapes! It’s been too cold for me to think about them lately, but we used to always eat them when I worked at a pool in college during the summer. Do you get to go home for lunch? Your lunches always look so yummy!

Hahaha no, I just often post my eats from the weekend, rather than during the week. Or I’ll show a pretty picture from dinner the night before, because I’m eating the leftovers of that dinner for lunch.
I wish I could go home for lunch … that would be awesome!
I love frozen grapes too, but only during the summer. As for my snacks, I’m been into fruit and some sort of protein a lot lately. I’m transitioning into eating clean!

that lunch looks pretty amazing. I might have to copy that. Oh and the dinner too. Our breakfast already looks the same. HA!

I’m not a banana fan, but your breakfast looks good. I keep hearing how good frozen grapes are…I need to try them!

Those Caramel Nut Balance Bars taste just like Twix. I swear. [Read: I want to eat another one after I have finished the first. They are CANDY.]
Is it weird that boxed mashed potatoes actually taste good to me? I think it is because my dad used to make them all the time when we were growing up, so it is like a taste of home. [This before my dad actually learned how to cook.

I think they taste like Snickers bars … I agree, I could totally eat them like candy. And I definitely think that we like the foods that we grow up with. My mom often made boxed mashed potatoes, too, so I love them!
I feel like I eat more than this and I am not pregnant! I admire all the healthy foods you have going on!

The best thing I have eaten all week: oatmeal raisin cookies my coworker made! They were moist, thick and chewy.

Do you ever have a hard time limiting yourself with grapes? Lol. They are so addicting. I can’t just eat one!
I didn’t know that Fiber One had a chocolate chip cookie- Have to tell my brother about that!
Oh yes … but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with stuffing my face with grapes.
I love frozen grapes, but only red ones! Lately my fave snack is anything with White Chocolate Wonderful Peanut Butter…soooo addicting!
