Earlier I posted about the fun afternoon I had yesterday. But I didn’t tell you yet about my “dinner”…
I use the term “dinner” lightly.
After our Panera visit, I decided that we HAD to go to Sweet Berries, since we were already in the neighborhood.
Sweet Berries is a delicious custard shop in Sarasota. If you are ever visiting this area, you need to check it out. It’s not too far from Siesta Key Beach (voted the Nation’s Best Beach!), so it would be the perfect place to go after a long day in the sun!
So rather than bothering to eat dinner, my mom and I decided that we needed to just skip right to dessert last night.
And let me tell you, this completely beat out any dinner I could have ever had!
My mom got the German Chocolate sundae (hers is on the right), and I got the Utterly Reese’s sundae.
This small piece of heaven has vanilla custard, topped with peanut butter, hot fudge, peanut butter cups, whipped cream and a cherry.
I don’t know if you’ve picked up on this yet, but I have a small love affair with all things sugary.
Don’t worry, I still love Brandon more.
See, he loves sweets, too!
After “dinner”, Pamela and her husband, Jeremy, stopped by the house for a visit. And they brought their adorable little boy, Lucas.
We had a great time catching up, while Lucas tried to figure out whether or not he liked Sophie.
The jury’s still out.
Of course, it’s also debatable what Lucas was thinking about me…
Hmmm..
Regardless, it was fun to see them and catch up!!

Question for ya…
Do you ever skip right to dessert? If so, how often do you think you do it?
(For me, it probably happens a couple of times a month.
)

Oh my god that dessert looks heavenly! Reese’s are one of my favs
. I don’t usually skip right to dessert because I’m generally too hungry haha
That’s why I got a LARGE!!
ibrgpiuerwhgernjgpoaegh that dessert looks amazing!! Sorry that was me having a spaz attack
No I NEVER skip dessert. I will take it home for later, but NEVER skip if if its offered!! I was at the mall with my hubby the other night and he turned down the Godiva chocolate lady who offered us free samples. I almost straight up beat him with my purse lol
I may have written it incorrectly, but I meant do you ever skip straight to dessert… not skip dessert!! I NEVER skip dessert, either!!
Truthfully? Sometimes I have ice cream for breakfast with my coffee. This new and utterly unhealthy habit began within the last couple months when my daughter has slept horribly. I’m not proud of it, but seriously… cookies and cream ice cream with a bit of chocolate sauce along with your coffee which contains almond joy creamer? OH YUM.
I think you may be my new best friend.
If only we could skip right to dessert EVERY night, right?! That looks SOOOO good!!!!
Kristen, we loved getting to see you! I was so happy Lucas got to know you a little more (since the last time he was about 8 months old). And I was just remembering how you were there for so many of our big moments with him.. the whole time I was pregnant, right after he was born, and just seeing him grow from there. I do think he likes you! I know that face! Anyway, thank you for honoring our little family with a big dedication in your post! The time went by too fast, and we only wish we could see you for longer periods of time! If you decide to make a small daytrip, come see us in Fort Myers! We’ll have you over for dinner :0) Love you!
I loved it, too!! I had a great time. Thank you again for driving up to see me!!! Love you!
That sundae looks fab…. I love anything chocolate peanut butter! I have skipped straight to dessert before… only if the dessert is HUGE though, or else I’m still hungry!
Yeah I’m the same way… my ice cream was a ‘large’ the other night, so it held me over for the rest of the evening!!!
