Things I’m Loving Lately

Happy Monday, friends! Smile

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.  Ours was perfect … we did a whole lot of nothing!  It was so nice to spend some quality time at home with my husband and daughter!

Today I thought I’d share a few of the things I’m loving right now.  I enjoy these kinds of posts from other people, because sometimes they give me new ideas or products to try!

So here we go!

Things I’m loving lately …

1. Warm drinks!

Now that the weather has gotten cooler, I am drawn to warm drinks.  I particularly enjoy curling up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee during one of Addie’s naps!

But recently, I’ve also been enjoying a hot cup of tea.  I’m normally not a huge tea drinker, but my mom has gotten me hooked on teas from The Republic of Tea.  They have flavors like Caramel Apple, Red Velvet, and Caramel Vanilla … yum! Smile

2. Boots!

photo (3)

For years, I strayed away from buying boots because I have really thin legs, so they would look way too big on me.  But after doing a little online research this fall, I finally found a pair that weren’t quite as wide as others I had previously tried.

In case anyone has the same problem, the brand I bought were Ivanka Trump.  But you can google search “boots for skinny calves” and find plenty of ideas!

3. FaceTime!

Thank goodness for FaceTime on our iPad!  We use this tool almost every day so that my mom can see Addie.  We also use it to keep connected with Brandon’s brother and his family.  Love FaceTime!

4. Baby Puffs/Cheerios!

010-2000

These little snacks helped get us through our very long car trip to and from Florida.  They’re also great to help Addie practice picking up small foods with her fingers.  I never have to give her a lot … just a few can go a long way in keeping her happy and entertained!

5. OxyClean Max Force Laundry Stain Remover!

This stuff is a life saver for me.  Thanks to Addie’s frequent spitting up, I’m constantly having to treat laundry stains … especially now that she’s eating solid foods.  This stain remover has gotten out blueberries, prunes, avocado, etc.  Good stuff!

6. Boogie Wipes and NoseFrida!

009-2000

Most parents have probably heard of Boogie Wipes.  They are saline wipes that you can use on little noses so that they don’t get irritated.  Although Addie still hates to get her nose wiped, these at least help avoid irritation!

I’m guessing most of you haven’t heard of the NoseFrida, though.  Basically it helps suck boogers out of your baby’s nose.  It looks and sounds disgusting, but there’s a filter that prevents anything from being transferred from baby to you. And it works about a million times better than the aspirator from the hospital (at least, it does for me!).  Honestly, Addie hates anything going near her nose, including this thing.  But when I can actually get her to hold still, it is a miracle worker!

7. Amazon Prime!

A year or so ago, my MIL accidently purchased Amazon Prime (not sure how it happened exactly … she hit an incorrect button, I guess!).  With Amazon Prime, you get free shipping on your purchases (provided that you buy things that are eligible … but SO many items are!), along with other perks.  You can put multiple people on your account, so my SIL and I have been able to use it, as well.  It has been a huge help this year, particularly when it comes to buying baby-related items.  I definitely plan to renew once our membership expires!

8. Watching our little girl learn new things!

Addie’s current #1 goal in life is to pull up on absolutely everything

007-2000

And she’s getting so good at it!  She’s also learned how to bend her knees so that she can gently fall to the ground when she’s ready to move to a new location.

She amazes me more and more every day.  You can tell that she’s proud of her accomplishments, and it’s so darn adorable to watch her problem-solve when she faces a new challenge!

And those are some of the things I’ve been loving lately! Smile

Question for ya …

What did you do this weekend?

What things are YOU loving lately?

(To be clear … I don’t get squat from any of the companies I mentioned for saying I like their products. I’m just sharing my personal opinions! Winking smile)

I am right there with you on the warm drinks and Amazon Prime! I haven’t ever tried The Republic of Tea, but those flavors sound amazing!

Their teas are more expensive, but worth it for a treat!

  2. Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries

I have the opposite problem with boots – I have bigger calves so I always have to get boots specifically for wider calves. :) Love the boots on you!!

And that video…SO cute! I’m so impressed. We have a ways to go before Hunter starts doing that, but I’m in no rush. Ha! And I love the way Addie crawls with her one leg – it’s so adorable!

Hahaha isn’t her crawling weird/cute?! I don’t know why on earth she does that, but it cracks me up. Such a goof ball!

  3. Nicole

I have been enjoying Starbucks Christmas blend coffee made at home in the AM and then 1 or 2 cups of hot tea throughout the day. I really like Aveda tea.

I’ve never tried Aveda tea! I may need to check that out!

  4. Jana @ Happy Wife Healthy Life

I have been all about warm drinks (cocoa and tea!) and boots lately too! I have also been loving Christmas decorations, snow (when I am inside next to the fire!) and scarves galore!

What do you typical wear your boots with? Skinny jeans or tights? If you wear tights, where do you usually buy them? I’m not the fashion girl, so I need tips! ;)

      • Jana @ Happy Wife Healthy Life

I actually wear a bit of everything with them-tights, skinny jeans, leggings etc! My very favorite are the ponte pants at crewfactory.com. They are warm for winter and provide more coverage than typical leggings or tights. Plus they are comfy! I wear them under dresses and skirts too for extra warmth!

You’re awesome … thanks, girl. I’ll check that site out!

  5. Andrea @ Andrea out loud!

FaceTime is definitely a love lately. My parents live in Belize so it is expensive to call them. My mom is very technologically challenged but last time she was visiting we got her an iPad which she figured out pretty easily and luckily that lets me FaceTime them too for free!

That is so awesome! Yeah I feel like FaceTime is pretty easy to figure out, regardless of how techy or not techy you are!

  6. Cheri

No school today….windchill factors of 15 degrees and below….so I’m getting some things done, but had to check in. Amazing how Addie is getting around so well. Love the video…won’t be long and we get to kiss and hug that little darling ♥

  7. Cinnamon @ eatpraytri

Ive totally heard of that nose frida thing from some moms that I know and they all swear by it. I think it is brilliant! And PRIME!!! Oh man, not sure how I ever lived without it?

My boys loved these and they were safe for the car due to the rapid disintegration once in a baby mouth! When they got a little older the toddler cookies in strawberry flavor were favorites. Below is link for baby Mum Mums on Amazon (prime!)

    • notsodomesticated

Yes, I should have mentioned MumMums, too. We have a box of those. I don’t use them or the Puffs too much because they’re made with rice and Addie has a tendency to get constipated pretty easily with too much rice. But they’re helpful as an ‘on the go’ snack!! :)

  9. Jessica

We have the Baby Nasakleen (just like the nose frida) and I love it! Betsy doesn’t really enjoy it but it is so much more effective then those bulb syringes!

If you already have Amazon Prime, you can also sign up for Amazon Mom for free. You get extra discounts on things like diapers and wipes and they have a couple of big sales every year just for Mom members. I don’t know what I did before Amazon Prime! 2-day shipping is the best!

    • notsodomesticated

      That is awesome! Thanks, Jessica!

  10. Jennifer

    How cute!!

I also have trouble with too wide boots! I didn’t know about that brand. We also love the nasal Frieda! Works for older kids too if you talk the into sitting still!

And I have decided amazon prime is a ‘need’ for our family, too. I did not know you can add others to your account!!! My parents will be thrilled if I add them!

    • notsodomesticated

Yes I believe you can add 2 or 3 others!

  11. Annette@FitnessPerks

I LOVE amazon prime!! Hello alllll of my christmas shopping (almost) being done on that! :)

and FaceTime is the bomb with a new baby.

Those boots look fab on you!

Oh yes … I am all about Amazon for Christmas shopping!!

  12. Avery @ YoungAspirations

I love these posts! I’ve been on a tea kick as well (mostly because I’m not drinking coffee). And OMG.. Amazon Prime is such a lifesaver. I’m so spoiled with it now I always get irritated if I ever do have to pay shipping for something! Haha. I have a feeling we will be using a LOT of FaceTime here soon as well :) My husband just talked his mom into getting an iPhone and she’s already FaceTiming him quite frequently. I can only imagine how she’ll be when there’s a baby too!
