Happy Friday, everyone! ![]()
Today is quite an exciting day for Brandon and me. After work, we are driving down to Louisville to meet these guys …
… and run a half marathon! ![]()
Long story short, Erin and Sam are friends from Florida who now live in Kentucky. And when Erin heard that Brandon and I had started running, she suggested that we run in the Louisville half-marathon with them.
So basically, she’s to blame for the pain I’ve endured over the last several months.
(Just kidding, Erin.
)
Of course, we won’t really be running with them. They will be blowing by us as we wave at the backs of their heads. ![]()
In honor of this big event, I thought it would be fun to take a look back over the last several months as I geared up for this run.
——————————
While training for the half marathon, I’ve had my good days …
… and my not-so good days.
I’ve had good hair days (that’s a relative-term) …
… and bad hair days.
I’ve spent way too much money on running-related items.
On the other hand, sometimes the best things in life are also the cheapest.
During this time, I’ve dealt with (minor) injuries …
… and I’ve learned some ways to prevent future injuries.
And along the way, on the days when I felt like this …
… I knew that my brief moments of agony were completely worth it for moments like this …
… and this …
and these …
So tomorrow, when I’m huffing and puffing and begging for someone to take me out of my misery, I know that I will be able to find the strength to push through to the end.
Because moments like these make it all worth it.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
And be sure to check out my guest posts on Brittany and Lindsay’s sites! They should be up sometime over the weekend! ![]()

It’s an UnderArmor shirt and I got it at Dick’s. I love it. You’ll be seeing it on me again b/c I’m wearing it for the half haha! It’s super comfortable and keeps me warm but also keeps sweat away. You should definitely check them out!

Loved the recap in pics
running really does have it’s ups and downs! even though it has some not so great times crossing the finish line is one of the most amazing feelings! That makes all of the training worth it.
You will do amazing!!
Thanks, Becca! That post was actually written before my half-marathon back in November, but I’m doing another half at the end of this month … so it still applies!
