Hi again! ![]()
How was everyone’s weekend?
Brandon and I have actually been dealing with a rather stressful situation involving our house in Ohio, so we both made a conscious effort to have a little fun this weekend and get our minds off everything!
First up for me … an 8.5 mile run Saturday morning! ![]()
It dawned on me that I haven’t taken any pictures of myself lately … I’ve been more focused on pictures of food (which we probably all enjoy more anyways, right?
)! So I took a quick pic pre-run. You also get a glance at our tiny lovely hotel room.
I decided to try another park for my Saturday run. This time, it was George Pierce Park in Suwanee.
The park is actually much prettier than my one pathetic picture … but I didn’t want to take my camera on the run!
Good news on the run … my shins didn’t hurt at all! ![]()
Bad news … the hills nearly killed me!
(Source)
Um, yeah, I didn’t look nearly as graceful and confident as that woman on my run!
FYI for those who may not know, Georgia is quite hilly. Much more so than Wapakoneta, Ohio. And I am clearly not used to it!
However, I guess it’s good preparation for my half-marathon in Nashville next month!

So after about 6.5 miles on wheezing up and down the hills, I eventually went in search of a slightly flatter terrain to finish my run.
Fortunately, Suwanee’s “Town Center” was only a quick drive away!
It’s a super cute area with lots of shops and little restaurants, walking paths, lots of green space for throwing a football around, and an amphitheater for live entertainment!
My last two miles still wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t nearly as killer as that park!
After I finished up, I really needed something to drink, as I had finished my water several miles back.
I found this cute restaurant and ordered a drink to be enjoyed outside … away from all the nice, clean people who had already showered for the day. ![]()
This stuff was delicious. I typically just prefer normal water, but this sparkling water really hit the spot! ![]()
Later in the day, Brandon and I decided to check out this place:
The International Farmers’ Market!
The market is near our hotel, and every time we drive by it, we see how PACKED the place is! So we decided it was finally time to check it out.
And wow, was it cool! Basically, any crazy ingredient you might need, it was there.
Cactus,
durian (which is a fruit, by the way! I had to Google it!),
octopus,
Asian wines (including plum wine, which is my favorite!),
and just a little bit of rice. ![]()
In need of orange juice?
I think they may be able to help you there.
Saturday night, I made a slow cooker recipe that ended up being pretty bad (I’ll share more details later this week). So what do you do when dinner is a bust?
Break out your Coldstone gift card, of course! ![]()
(Thanks to my friends at Snyder Park Elementary for that gift card … we’re putting it to good use!)
On Sunday, after church (we’re still attending Passion City and LOVING it!!), we headed to “The Forum,” which is an outdoor shopping center in the area.
We had lunch at Mambo, a cute Italian restaurant.
I drooled over their assortment of gelato while waiting for my meal.
I ordered a Pollo Panini, which had chicken, tomato, mozzarella, and pesto. It also came with a Caesar salad. Yum! ![]()
After lunch, we explored the stores. I was particularly interested in the furniture stores, since we’ll be having to decorate a new house at some point soon!
And what shopping trip is complete without a new pair of shoes? ![]()
What do you think? I thought they might be good for our Europe trip this summer … cute and comfortable! ![]()
Whew, well that was our weekend! Now tell me about YOUR weekend! ![]()

I got them from DSW … they’re Roxy brand, but they were at a discount price at DSW. That store is awesome!
I want those shoes! SO cute
. Hills when running are the worst…I would not have been graceful running up them either. Um, and how do you eat cactus? I don’t know if I’d want to be that adventurous hehe. I hope everything turns out wonderfully with your house!

congrats on the killer run! hill running is always tough, but it always makes me feel super tough after!
And ummmm cactus huh? I know they make taquilla and agave nectar from it, but I had no idea you could eat it straight up. I mean what, roast it? Bake it? I think I’ll pass….lol

Cute shoes, I’m sure they will be good for your Europe trip this summer.
Greetings from Europe
So happy to have found your blog! I’ve been on a mission to find faith fitness based blogs to get my inspirations. I have some good buddies I want to visit in Suwanee, so thanks for the places you listed. By the way, Durian is very stinky. I can’t get past the nasty smell. They say it taste good, but… I dunno… Keep on posting!

Thanks for the comment CJ!
I read through your most recent blog post, but I can’t comment. Blogger sometimes doesn’t like wordpress. There should be an option where you can make your comment section more accessible to everyone. I don’t know how it works exactly, but hopefully you can figure it out!
Have a great day!
Love those shoes! Super cute <3
