Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a great one over here. Friday night was low-key. After putting Addie to bed, Brandon helped me do a little cleaning. We had a celebration to prepare for!
My friends Anna and Jessie and I threw a baby shower for our friend, Alanna, this weekend.
This will be Alanna’s second little boy, so rather than having a traditional shower, we did a “diaper and gift card” shower.
Mostly we just wanted to get together a group of Alanna’s friends and family to celebrate with her and pray over the impending arrival of her sweet boy, Camden!
Of course, what shower would be complete without food?!
The shower took place during the late morning, so we stuck with a brunch theme.
We had fruit, yogurt and granola, donut holes, Chick-Fil-A mini chicken biscuits, and cinnamon roll cake.
Since I love baking, I made the cinnamon roll cake. And it was delicious! Sweet and moist with a cream cheese frosting on top. Yum!
(Recipe coming later this week!)
We didn’t do many of the traditional shower games, but we did do a cute “purse” game, where you get points for having certain items in your purse.
Jessie, our bag lady.
We spent the majority of our time chatting and eating. But we also dedicated significant time praying over Alanna, baby Camden, and the rest of the family.
Jessie’s mom had made Alanna this sweet baby blanket, so we passed it around so that each person at the shower could pray over it. It was such a special time, and I will definitely be using this idea for future baby showers!
The rest of Saturday was spent enjoying the gorgeous fall weather!
Sunday we headed to church. Matt Redman was visiting from over the pond (i.e., England. I know … I’m so cool. ), and he led worship during the gathering.
And that was our weekend! It really couldn’t have been better … beautiful weather, time with family and friends, and worshiping God!
Question for ya …
What did you do this weekend?
How’s the weather in your neck of the woods?
Has anyone picked out Halloween costumes yet (for yourself, your children, or your pets!)? If so, share what you’re dressing up as!
