Hi guys! First of all, I just wanted to thank you for all of the “Happy Blogiversary” wishes I received after Monday’s post. You guys are the best! And if you haven’t checked out Monday’s post yet, you should! I also discussed a delicious new summer drink that you don’t want to miss out on!
What I didn’t get to share on Monday was details from our weekend with family … take 3!
On Thursday, our sister-in-law, Christi, and her little girls came to town.
I didn’t take a ton of pictures, because I was too busy having fun. But here’s just a snapshot of the good times we had.
1. The girls helped me cut flowers from our backyard.
2. We threw on our aprons and baked some cookies!
Mary-Allison was quite the sugar cookie decorator.
Such intense concentration!
3. Uncle B read bedtime stories.
They love their Uncle B!
4. We conquered the rock wall at Lifetime Fitness!
Actually, if I’m honest, Mary-Allison and Brandon conquered it.
(Don’t let that picture fool you … she got the whole way to the top!)
While they “rocked” (pun intended) it out, I got about three-fourths of the way up each time. Then I realized how high I was and immediately wanted my feet back on solid ground.
Other highlights of the weekend that weren’t pictured:
2. More frozen yogurt (you can never have enough).
3. Several rounds of hide-and-seek.
4. Lots of swimming.
5. Lots of bubble blowing.
All in all, a successful weekend. Thanks for visiting, ladies!! We loved having you!
And now, on to WIAW!
Thanks to Jen for hosting!
Breakfast: Whole-wheat English muffin with peanut butter and banana. I’ve been craving a good English muffin since we left the hotel. But sadly, I can’t find the big ones at the grocery store. Boo.
Snack #1: Organic vanilla yogurt topped with granola and blueberries.
Lunch: Microwaved sweet potato topped with peanut butter, a little brown sugar, and cinnamon. On the side, raw veggies with a little ranch dressing.
Snack #2: Cookie dough Balance bar. Really delicious, which (for some reason) I wasn’t expecting!
Dinner: Whole-wheat spaghetti in a marinara sauce. The sauce was store-bought, but I cooked up some ground chicken to add to it, and I also added some garlic powder, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. So good!
After Dinner Snack: Cherries. I am loving these right now!! I think cherries might be my favorite fruit, but I rarely get them because they can be expensive. Right now they’re on sale … score!
And finally, let’s talk Bachelorette.
(Warning: Spoilers ahead!)
1. In my opinion, Chris needs to go. He lacks confidence, which is not an attractive quality in a guy.
2. Jef is still my favorite.
Actually, he’s even more my favorite after this week. But I still don’t know if I necessarily see the two of them together.
3. Sean is a really close second favorite.
And honestly, I think he might be a better match for Emily.
4. Why am I even worrying about who’s the better match? Regardless, it’s not like this relationship will last past my next birthday. And yet, I still can’t stop watching this show!
Question for ya …
Ever been rock climbing?
Cream cheese or buttercream frosting for sugar cookies?
(I will always vote for cream cheese frosting.)
Best thing you’ve eaten this week?
