Jessica @ How Sweet It Is is my new best friend.
What’s that you ask?
Why am I pretending that a stranger on the internet is my best friend?
Because she introduced me to some of the best cookies I’ve ever had!
If you like small, hard cookies with only a little flavor, then don’t make these cookies.
BUT if you like really big, soft cookies that are BURSTING with sweet peanut butter flavor and make the entire house smell like Santa’s workshop (or at least how I would imagine his workshop to smell … ), then these cookies are for you!! ![]()
Jessica’s recipe is called “Puffy Peanut Butter Cookies with Chocolate Chips.” And the name really says it all.
I followed her recipe to the letter, with only one exception …
… I used these beauties, rather than normal chocolate chips.
And after pouring the quantity I needed for the recipe, I may have snuck a few morsels for myself …
Shhh … don’t tell Brandon! ![]()
Have I convinced you to make these yet?
Trust me on this one … they are worth the (minimal) effort and the calories.
So get off the computer, go make them, and then feel free to come back and thank me. ![]()
Question for ya …
Do you prefer cookies straight out of the oven, or do you like to wait until they’ve completely cooled off?
My husband recently informed me that he does NOT like them straight out of the oven!!! This idea completely blows my mind.

Haha the image of you eating the chips is awesome! Since I tend to make baked goods with wheat (which I can’t have), that’s usually what I look like throughout the whole baking process
Aww well that’s a bummer!! We need to find you some cookies that you can consume without any worry!!
I made those last week too! They were super yummy. And of course I had some straight out of the oven.
Great minds think alike!
Drool!! Those cookies look amazing. I have to eat cookies right out of the oven. So tasty!
They taste even better than they look!
I saw these cookies and now you have convinced me to make them!
Love the chocolate chips photo, totally acceptable and i can never wait and eat cookies straight from the oven
You need to make them. Jessica is a genius!
these look great! i like my cookies straight outta the oven, of course!
I’m seeing a trend! I think my crazy husband is the only one who doesn’t like them that way!
ooo, my husband would be in heaven! and i eat cookies as soon as i can get them in my mouth without burning my tongue off!!
Sam @ fitness food & faith
Haha me too! And sometimes I get impatient and my mouth does get burned … but it’s so worth it!
Peanut butter + chocolate = heaven!!!
Straight out of the oven is the best way to go of course! I love gooey cookies…with a side of ice cream!
I totally need to get some vanilla ice cream to have on hand at all times for that very reason. I was just thinking that today! (I daydream about dessert … a lot!)
I am definitely a straight out of the oven kind of girl! Give me those melt in your mouth soft cookies! yum
ME TOO! Heck, I’ll even eat them with a spoon! I made some cookies that came out WAY too flat recently, so they stuck to the pan … that didn’t stop me from dumping them in a bowl and eating!
oh girl give me the ooey gooey ones any day!! Im not one for a hard cookie, I need them soft and mushy straight off the pan!
Amen, sister Kat!
I don’t know…you seem pretty domesticated to me! Those look amazing. I kind of agree that you should be a smidge suspicious of anyone who doesn’t like their cookies all ooey-gooey right out of the oven. Even if he is your husband:)
Aww thanks, Jenn! If you look back at some of my old posts, you’ll see that I have my good and bad days. But these were so easy … even I couldn’t mess them up!!
Warm cookies are where it’s at – especially warm pb cookies!
Absolutely!! I wish I had one for breakfast this morning!
Gotta have them right out of the oven with some milk! Those cookies look awesome!
Thanks, Kelly!! You should definitely try them … they were awesome!
P.S. I tried to comment on your blog about, oh, 20 times.
(OK maybe not that many.) And it didn’t want anything to do with me and my comment!
May want to check your settings!
You know, I think the internet just doesn’t want us to be friends because I tried to add you to the blogs I follow and it wouldn’t let me do that either! I will have to check my comment settings. Thanks for the heads up!
Well we’ll keep working on it, ok?! Haha!
