Happy New Year’s Eve, my friends!! ![]()
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday last week. Brandon and I spent the entire week in Florida … first visiting family in Sarasota, then on a little “baby-moon” in Marco Island. We had the BEST time, and I’ll be doing a recap of the trip later this week!
But for now, I need to catch up on some pregnancy updates!
What is (was) baby Addison doing during Week 25?
According to this website, “Your baby is growing by leaps and bounds, reaching nine inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark. Under his skin, capillaries are forming and filling with blood and by week’s end, air sacs (also lined with capillaries) will develop in his lungs, getting them ready for that first breath. Mind you, those lungs aren’t ready for prime time just yet — but they are developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth. And speaking of breathing, your baby’s tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open, and his vocal chords are getting ready to roar.”
What is baby Addison doing during Week 26?
According to this website, “She now weighs a full two pounds and measures nine-plus inches. And this week, her eyes, which until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open. Of course, there’s not much to see in there, but if your baby spots a bright light (or hears a loud noise) near your belly, you may notice an increase in fetal activity. (“Hey, I’m in here, Mommy! Where’s the party!”) What accounts for that response? Her brain is more developed and sophisticated.”
Symptoms/Physical Changes:
- I was feeling her kick less often for a few days, which caused me to worry a bit. But after doing some reading, I think she may have just been in a position that prohibited me from feeling her kicks. After those few days, I started feeling her kicking like crazy again!
- A little acid reflux, but not too bad.
- Getting bigger and bigger! (But my holiday eating probably didn’t help that situation too much.
)
Cravings:
Still no true “cravings,” but I enjoyed plenty of good holiday eats. And I probably ate my weight in these:

My mom made them from scratch, some with Hershey Kisses and some with Reese’s Cups. Heaven!
Fun Events:
- Well, we were in Florida for the week, so that was certainly fun. I got to wear my maternity bathing suit almost every day (it was hot enough that I didn’t care what anyone thought of me or my belly!), and I got to talk to a few other mommys-to-be that were also on vacation!
- Strangers have no fear asking me about my pregnancy at this point. So I guess it’s pretty obvious.
- I had another doctor’s appointment before we left for Florida, and everything looked good!
Question for ya …
Catch me up on your lives! How was your holiday? What did you do? What did you eat?
New Year’s Eve plans?
If anyone else is pregnant and reading this, tell me how your pregnancy is going!
(Kim Kardashian, that includes you!
)

You look great! I’m glad you had fun in Florida! I had a great time celebrating my first Christmas as a wife, but I’m sad that it went by so fast!

I also did not have any “real” cravings. I would always hear about pickles and ice cream, but the only real thing I craved was store-bought chocolate milk. I drank a small glass every night. It made me feel better to drink the low-fat kind
Have you had any back pain? I had terrible back pain on my left side up till month 8, and then Cane must have switched spots or proportioned himself in my stomach because it was finally gone and I could enjoy my last few months without the pain. Reading those updates totally takes me back! Makes me miss it in some weird way, even though I didn’t particularly love being pregnant except for the kicks! Very best part!!! So happy for you
Thank you for your comment, DeDe! I haven’t had bad back pain yet, thank goodness. I’m kind of with you … I don’t LOVE being pregnant. But I don’t hate it either, because so far, I’ve been blessed to have a fairly easy pregnancy. And I know it will all be worth it when I finally get to meet my little girl!!
You look adorable, as always. I feel like my belly grew a LOT this past week! Baby must’ve gone through a little growth spurt. I still have a hard time envisioning how in the world my belly could possibly get any bigger.

I am honestly not sure if my growing belly this week is more due to Addie growing or due to all the junk I ate haha. I’m thinking a big part of it is bloat from all of the salt and sugar!
Did you Theresa is having twins? A bay and a girl!
Looking good, mama! And Happy New Year!

I know, it’s huge, right?! I can’t believe that I have 14 weeks to go haha!
so fun. I love hearing about your progress. Its like getting to be pregnant without actually being pregnant!

Kim Kardashian pregnant? Wow. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, although I feel kind of bad for Khloe. I did a twelve-week celebrity draft that ended just a few weeks ago, and I had picked Kim banking on the fact that she’d get engaged, married, or pregnant, but it looks like my timing was off!
You look great, and I’m so glad you had a nice week in Florida!
Hunnie! You look AMAZING. So glad you had such a fabulous time in Florida =)
May 2013 be an amazing year for you.. which really, how could it not when you get to meet your little one?? xoxo

I haven’t gotten true cravings either. And interestingly I also ate my weight in those same cookies. They are my favorite!

Looking great! Hope you had a fantastic holiday season. I too ate more than my fair share of holiday cookies. And I’m not pregnant so I have no excuse lol.
