Hi again, friends!
Last week, I wrote about all of the delicious foods we enjoyed while on our honeymoon.
Today I’m going to talk about some of the fun things we did while we were in Costa Rica (because it’s not just about the food … although some days I would disagree with that statement! ).
After landing in Costa Rica, we picked up our rental car and headed to our hotel.
Little did we know, it would end up being more than a 2 hour drive on tiny roads through random towns.
But, we finally made it. And I was immediately excited to see that the entire hotel was decorated for Christmas.
The first day of our honeymoon, we did a lot of lounging around.
But the next day, we got off our lazy behinds and went zip lining!
Not going to lie, when it was my turn to go, I was less than thrilled.
Although I eventually got the hang of things …
… but Brandon was still way more comfortable up there than I was!
And let’s just say that I wasn’t too sad when the experience was over.
On another day, we went on a hike through the rainforest.
You could choose from a variety of hikes, and we chose one for more experienced hikers.
Thanks to our decision, we ended up hiking with a retired Navy SEAL and a fearless tour guide.
That’s right. Three big, strong, courageous men … and me.
And because I wanted to keep up with the boys, I did everything they did. Including … eating termites.
Yeah … THAT will never happen again.
(I know you’re digging the “tennis shoes and bathing suit” look. But it was pretty dangerous on those rocks, so all style went out the window!)
While in Costa Rica, we also had the opportunity to experience the most amazing sunset I’ve ever witnessed.
There was another hotel that boasted amazing views, so we had to go there for a drink around sunset.
Truly incredible. The pictures don’t do it justice.
On Christmas Day, we decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing spa day.
We got to wear big, luxurious robes and cute spa shoes. We drank cucumber water and relaxed in whirlpools.
And then we had a couples’ massage that was out of this world.
Sadly, the end of the week came too soon. And before we knew it, we were on a plane headed home.
Question for ya …
Have you ever done any activity that scared you to death, but you did it anyway?
(That was definitely zip lining for me!)
Would you prefer a snowy or tropical vacation spot?
