Happy Friday, everyone!
This Friday is particularly happy for me, because my mom is coming in to town! I am so excited to show her the new house, take her to some fun places around Atlanta, and bring her to church on Sunday!
Earlier this week, I was presented with the “One Lovely Blog” award. Two different bloggers sent it to me … Nicole at Running Nonstop and Katelin at HealthyFatKid (thanks, ladies!!
).
So what am I supposed to do with this “award?”
- Link back to the blogger who nominated you.
- Paste the award image on your blog, anywhere.
- Share 7 facts about yourself.
- Nominate some other blogs you like for this award.
- Post a comment on each of your nominees’ blogs telling them about the nomination.
I’ve done something like this before, but it’s been a while, so let’s see if I can come up with 7 more facts about myself. I’m really not that interesting, so this might be tricky …
1. I have a love for any TV show involving cooking or food.
Some favorites include Top Chef, Man vs. Food, Cupcake Wars, and any show involving Paula Deen or Giada De Laurentiis.
And in my mind, meeting Sam from Top Chef a few years ago was better than meeting Brad Pitt. Or the president (don’t judge me).
2. I have eaten a marshmallow that has been toasted in a volcano.
I wrote a post a long time ago about my mission trip to Guatemala. It was an incredible experience, and I encourage you to go back and read that post if you never have.
On one of the last days, we had a “recreational day,” in which we hiked up an active volcano.
And as a reward for accomplishing our 7-hour hike, we all enjoyed a sweet treat!
And just FYI, they were delicious. ![]()
3. I have zero sense of direction.

True story: The summer before starting 2nd grade, we moved to a new town. On the first day of school, I took the bus home. I was so busy talking (shocker), that I missed my bus stop. When I finally realized what happened, an older kid offered to walk me around the neighborhood until we found my house. But unfortunately, I had no idea where my house was. A couple of hours later, one of my mom’s work colleagues found us and brought us home. All I remember is pulling up to my house and seeing fire trucks, police officers, and my elementary school principal all waiting for me. Talk about embarrassing!
4. I also have zero fashion sense.
OK maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration.
But I don’t know how to put together several articles of clothing from several different stores, plus accessories, plus shoes and make it all look good. If anyone would like to be my personal stylist, I would be forever grateful.
However, I do enjoy buying workout clothes.
Pretty sure I spend more money on running gear than nice clothes.
(And yes, that’s a very old picture. The snow in the background helps me remember why we moved to Atlanta.
)
5. When planning a vacation, the first thing I do is find the restaurants where I want to eat.
In about a month, we’re going on a Mediterranean cruise. You’d think I’d be researching the best museums in Italy or the sculptures that we have to check out in Spain.
But no. Instead, I’m focused on things like this:
Priorities, my friends. ![]()
6. I want to learn how to play the drums.
(Source)
I know, random, right? But I think it would be fun. Plus, it’s a great way to get out any pent-up aggression!
7. If given the choice, I would stay in my pajamas all day, every day.
I’m a big fan of comfort. And pajamas = comfort in my book. I’d love a job that would allow me to wear them all day. I’m a bit jealous of nurses, because they get to wear scrubs. Sure, they have one of the hardest jobs in the world. And sure, they have to deal with bodily fluids that I’d never go near. But hey, at least they’re comfy, right? ![]()

OK time to pass the award on to some blogger buddies!

Aww you are so sweet!! Thank you so much for including me! I thought about sending you something to include regarding the house, but then I forgot haha. Short-term memory issues.
And yes, let’s plan a pajama party A-Sap!
I think we may be twins, I am traveling to Boston for a week and I have a whole list of restuarants that I’ve already looked up the menu
Plus I’m a total pajama girl!
Hahah I love it. Let me know what restaurants you try and enjoy! I’m not planning any Boston trips soon, but it never hurts to get recommendations!
I’m with you on so many of these! Love scouting restaurants, obsessed with top chrf, and I 100% agree about the pajamas (and the dog
). Have a wonderful time with your mom!

You are SOO interesting you crazy girl!! THANK YOU SO much for nominating me for this! My heart feels all warm and fuzzy

That is so cool about your want to play the drums, and that collage of food is making me drool. Especially those chocolate croissants. Those are a huge weakness of mine!!
And PJ’s all day? SIGN ME UP!
Cinnamon @ eatpraytri recently posted..Well played, Groupon, well played
I’m pretty sure the main reason I want to go to Italy is to go on a full-out eating tour! The first thing I do before travelling places is look up must eat at restaurants!
And I’m not kidding when I say I considered becoming a nurse for a little while and one of the major pros on my pro/con list was wearing scrubs daily!
I, too, have zero fashion sense and would stay forever in PJs and yoga pants (same thing??) if I had the choice

Brittany (Healthy Slice of Life) recently posted..Adults in Atlanta
I have lived in the same town my entire life, and I still have trouble actually giving directions!
I also relate to the looking for restaurants when going on vacation. My family teases me, because that’s the first thing I do. I also can remember everything everyone ate whereever we had dinner years down the line!
Angela @ Health, Happiness & Harmony recently posted..June Yoga Challenge, Week 1 Recap (+ Giveaway Winner!)
I want roasted marshmallows now! YUM!
Also… I’m going on a Mediteranan Cruise in about a month too! Is yours leaving from the northeast by any chance?? How funny would that be if we were on the same one!
Alyssa @ Fit and Fun in Third recently posted..I hit “The Wall”
Ours is leaving out of Barcelona and we go to cities in Italy and France … what about yours??
I can totally relate to number 5 – whenever I’m planning a holiday, the first things I’m looking for are the best places to eat and the local zoo. As for the weekend plans… visiting a friend who lives at the seaside and filling out email interviews…
Oh I love this how fun! I too would stay in my pj’s all day if I could, some Sundays I actually do! ha I love comfy! haha

And how cool you should totally learn how to play the drums! Mine has always been to learn the piano…maybe one day!
Jentry Nielsen recently posted..E-Book: Sneaky Ways to Weight Loss
We could start a band!!
Drums? Seriously?
HAHA We share so many of these traits! I don’t have a fashion sense either, am ALWAYS looking at restaurants in future cities I’ll be visiting, and practically live in my pajamas!
Brittany @ Itty Bits of Balance recently posted..Peanut Butter Mini M&M Blondies
I’m super jealous that you’re roasted a marshmallow in a volcano! That sounds like so much fun! I always figure that fashion is just about personal preference and loving what you’re wearing…so I’m always in style (in my books)

kaceyjt recently posted..Mr. Torres Goes to Houston
How cool about the marshmallow! I bet it tasted extra glorious
And I love any food/cooking show too… well I suppose I don’t love them ALL, but I will at least watch the show once to try and see if it’s worth continuing. My favorites are Top Chef, Next Foodnetwork Star, Chopped, Restaurant Impossible, Restaurant Wars… err those are the first that come to mind

Tessa @ Amazing Asset recently posted..My Five For Friday
I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the drums too! I played percussion in 5th grade, but I never pursued it after that.

thank you very much for sharing all this great information with us! it’s definitely appreciated. well worth the time in reading!http://www.desentupidorarecife.com
I can relate to almost all of your random facts!!! When we had cable, all I ever watched was the Food Network. Not kidding!!! Also, when researching for our honeymoon, most of the research involved restaurants and food! I have no sense of style either! I think it is so cool you’ve had a volcano toasted marshmallow. I mean, really, who else can make that claim?!?
Amber with Slim Pickin’s Kitchen recently posted..Peach Cobbler Martini
I love the volcano marshmallows that is SO rad! The drums are so fun I used to play throughout middle school and let me tell you banging on the drums is the best stress/anger release out in the market!
Court Star @ StarSystemz recently posted..Welcome to FeedBurner
I am also quite directionally challenged! Thank goodness for smart phone navigation or I would be LOST much of the time, lol!
I am a bit fashion challenged as well!! I know what LOOKS good when I see it on other people and I would be willing to be a little risky in my fashion choices if only I could figure out how to put it all together. For this reason, I am a self declared jeans and tank type of girl.
Suzanne @ Fit Minded Mom recently posted..Giveaway and Workout Wrap Up
that makes me laugh about you getting lost on the way home in second grade! and not knowing where your house was!
jennifer recently posted..Staying Organized: Pantry
Hahah you don’t remember that, do you?? We were in the same class that year, I think. I lived in Ellport at the time, and I couldn’t find our little white house on Deemer! Hilarious!
