Happy Monday, everyone! ![]()
Today’s post is going to be super quick. We have a lot going on right now, but I did want to share the good news:
We closed on our house!! ![]()
![]()
Our closing was on Thursday. Everything went very smoothly, which was a huge answer to prayer. At the closing, we got to meet the sellers, and I’m so glad we had that opportunity. They were such nice people, and we were happy to have the chance to give them a huge “THANK YOU!” for taking such good care of our new home.
After the closing, we had to at least stop by the new house to say hello. ![]()
(Don’t let him fool you … he secretly loves my incessant picture taking.)
Our realtor gave us a bottle of wine to help us celebrate our new home. It hasn’t been opened yet, but after a couple more days of unpacking, I’m sure we’ll be needed a drink. ![]()
On Friday, some of our new furniture arrived.
That’s not how it’s actually going to be set up, but you get the idea.
Our new king-sized mattress!
(Sorry, Pamela, I know you told me not to get a king, but we already had the king-sized comforter!)
Bright and early on Saturday morning, we headed to the storage unit to get our things.
We had several people helping us, both from Brandon’s work and from church. They were a huge blessing!
Coffee and Krispy Kreme donuts for our helpers. ![]()
The guys moved everything into the U-Haul super fast. Before we knew it, we were moving things into the house!
So Brandon’s company paid for professional movers to pack everything up for us in Ohio and drive it down to Georgia. Nice, right? But I think the moving company was just a tad bit excessive with the use of packing paper and boxes.
That’s not even all of it. Half the boxes have already been torn down and are hidden from view. If I never see a box or a piece of packing paper again, it will be too soon! ![]()
Brandon and I worked until about 10:00 on Saturday night, and we worked all day Sunday. There’s still a lot to do, but at least our kitchen looks good!
I mean, that is the most important room in the house, right? ![]()
Well I gotta get back to work. But I hope all of you have a fantastic day! And stay tuned for some new recipes … you know I can’t wait to get my hands on that oven!!
Question for ya …
What did you do this weekend?
Ever have professional movers move you?
Favorite kind of donut?

Your house looks AWESOME! Congratulations!! I can not wait to get out of the apartment we are leasing right now. Unfortunately we are here until march. But we have already had our eye on some neighborhoods!
This weekend has been relaxing, but I got my first three days of my June Running Streak finished! And feeling GREAT! Your advice on breakfast has helped too! Def have your words in my head when I’m deciding what to eat!
Have fun unpacking!! I know it’s awful and GREAT at the same time! Def jealous of that kitchen!!! Wish my kitchen aid mixer could fit on our counter!

we have a king size bed too, and we love it. cody is tall, and he puts off a crazy amount of heat when he sleeps, so it’s nice to have a little space! oh, and i LOVE the chocolate glazed krispy kreme donuts!

Love the house and king size beds are AWESOME!! We will never go back! I had professional movers from NM to Seattle and it is a little ridiculous the amount of stuff they use. I just kept thinking…”all those trees that had to DIE!!” lol. Dramatic I know.I’m so excited you finally get to stretch out and enjoy the space to move and the KITCHEN!! AHHH!! Can’t wait to see all the yummy stuff that comes out of there!

I’ve never used professional movers … but I think I will the next time I move. I think there would be less tension between me/my loved ones on moving day that way. You know how things can get when you can’t fit something through a door
It looks great so far! What an exciting experience!
Yellow Haired Girl recently posted..Setting Goals
Haha oh yes. We had our friends help us move into the house, and it was a bit tricky getting a couch up the stairs. We ended up getting scuff marks on the walls, but we had spare paint in the garage and just painted right over them!
A new house!! That is just so exciting
When we moved here from WA we had professional movers who packed, transported, and even unpacked for us which caused everything to go SO much more smoothly. I don’t think we would ever move again without help from the pros!

Hey Nicole! Thank you so much!
I’ll check it out!!
Love that kitchen! We just moved too…but did all the packing and driving ourselves. I would have loved to have professional movers (even if they went overboard on the . boxes), but didn’t want to pay. Most everything is in storage now, but I’m already dreading the unpacking process.

Ahhh! Congratulations! You must be so happy to be all moved in and into your new house! Everything looks amazing and I love you kitchen. I am incredibly jealous!
I can’t wait to have a house! We’ve been in our condo for almost two years.. and the market has held steady..but we aren’t ready to sell it yet! Hopefully in the next couple of years we will be ready to go (and our pup will have a backyard!)
Congrats again!
Cait @ Beyond Bananas recently posted..Lasts…
I definitely understand. Our last house in Ohio was very small … it worked for the time being, but we were ready for something with a little more space! We were eventually able to sell it, but it certainly wasn’t easy in this market!
