Hope everyone had a great weekend. We sure did!
My mom and her dog, Sophie, came in to town on Wednesday, because Brandon had to be in Ohio all week for work.
Now that Addie is getting older, she’s starting to be more aware of Sophie. It’s pretty funny to see how Addie reacts to a dog.
I’m guessing she won’t be asking us for her own puppy anytime soon.
My mom and I tried doing a photo shoot with Addie and Sophie. Now that was quite the experience.
After taking a million photos, this was the only one that was remotely useable:
Not great, but what do you expect from a puppy and a (almost) 6-month old?
On Saturday, Brandon was home from Ohio, and we were ready for a day to ourselves.
Had to take advantage of the free baby-sitting while we could!
We decided to go check out Oktoberfest in Helen, Georgia.
Helen is located along the Chattahoochee River in the north part of Georgia. It is well-known for being a replica of a Bavarian alpine town.
Every year around this time, they celebrate Oktoberfest with lots of beer, brats, and live bands!
Brandon and I started the afternoon at a restaurant that looked out over the river.
Of course, we had to try some of the German beer on tap.
When in Rome, right?
(And if you’re wondering, no, I did not finish the whole thing! That’s too much for this girl!)
While Brandon decided to stick with the German theme and order a bratwurst on a bun, I decided to try a Reuben sandwich for the first time in my life, after it was recommended by a table of tourists next to us.
Although I have nothing to compare it to, I must say that it was one delicious sandwich. Yum!
The rest of our afternoon was spent exploring the different shops and people watching.
Or maybe I should say, dog watching?
It was a really fun day, and I’m so glad that we had the opportunity to check out a new area. But it was mostly fun just because I got to spend some quality time with this guy:
And speaking of my handsome husband … guess who is celebrating a birthday today??
That’s his “I’m so excited to be one year older” face.
Happy Birthday to the most amazing husband …
… and father to Addie that I could ever ask for.
You are truly the man of my dreams.
I can’t wait to celebrate many more birthdays with you, and experience even more adventures together!
I love you, Brandon! Happy Birthday!
Question for ya …
What did you do this weekend?
Ever attend an Oktoberfest?
Favorite fall activity?
