Hi friends! I have a bunch of random thoughts for today, so I decided to put them into list form.
Because I am a woman who loves lists, and it’s my blog, so I do what I want.
1. I finally have a twitter account!
Actually, I was also pressured by my church. Evidently you aren’t cool at Passion City until you have a twitter account.
(I’m kidding … kind of. )
My Twitter name is @notsodom. If anyone has a better name, I’m all ears. Obviously @notsodomesticated would be more ideal, but it’s more than 15 letters. Grr.
2. Is anyone else excited that gas keeps going down?
This is what I saw when I filled up yesterday:
Love it! What’s the average price in your area?
3. We had an awesome 4th of July.
A family from church had a party at their house, and everyone had a great time eating, chatting,
and kayaking down the water slide.
Totally normal, right?
I also got to spend time with one of my favorite new friends!
I’m always a little nervous that I won’t make new friends when I move to a new city. But I met Leigh at church and we immediately clicked. She’s the best!
4. I made a slow cooker meal the other night that looked ugly, but tasted really good.
Thank goodness for the green broccoli, or else it would have looked really bad!
I followed this recipe, except I did a few different things that probably made it look the way it does! I used a mixture of chicken breasts, thighs, wings, etc. I probably should have just used boneless chicken breasts or thighs. I also skipped using sesame seeds. But the flavor really was great. If you want an easy meal that tastes kind of like the chicken you get at the Japanese restaurant in the mall, try it out!
5. I know who Emily chooses on The Bachelorette.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to give it away. But if you’re someone who likes spoilers, you can get the details at realitysteve.com. He’s been giving away the end of the Bachelor and Bachelorette for years. He can also be kind of crude … just a warning.
And if you want to be surprised, then DON’T GO TO HIS WEBSITE! This website is only for those of us who like to search the house for our Christmas gifts before Christmas morning, who like to find out the sex of the baby before he/she is born, and who like to read the last page of the book before we even start Chapter 1.
(I don’t actually do that last one … but I know some of you do! )
6. We leave for Europe … like, really soon.
Whoa, how did this trip sneak up on us so quickly??
These are the cities we’re visiting on our cruise: Barcelona, Spain; Provence and Nice, France; Florence, Rome, and Naples, Italy.
If anyone has any recommendations for “must-sees” (or more importantly, “must-eats!”), please let me know! We’re trying not to stress on this vacation and mostly playing things by ear, but I also want to make sure we don’t miss anything super important!
Question for ya …
What are you up to this weekend?
What are the gas prices like where you live?
Are you someone who likes to spoil the surprise for yourself?
What did you do on the 4th of July?
