End of the road. (Kind of …)

Hi friends. Smile

This post is a long time coming.

After much thought and consideration, I have decided to end my time as a blogger.

When I first started this blog in June 2011, I loved blogging.  I somehow managed to blog twice a day for the first couple of months, which seems so crazy now!  Then it went to once a day, then just Monday-Friday, and then eventually went down to three times a week.

But when I got pregnant, things changed for me.  It felt more like work than fun.  My feelings were probably obvious in my quality of writing.  I was just writing as quickly as possible to get something out, rather than writing because I truly enjoyed it.

Since having Addie, I’ve had mixed feelings about continuing.  I love sharing with everyone how she is growing and learning, but it’s hard to find the time and energy to blog.  So once again, many of my posts are written quickly rather than written well.

All that being said, I have made the decision to stop blogging for the time being.  I will probably continue to post Addie updates from time to time, because I know my family and friends enjoy seeing them.  And maybe in a few months I’ll change my mind and come back full of energy and new ideas!  But for now, it’s time to put the computer to the side and focus on other things.

(These two cuties, in particular. Winking smile)

You all have no idea how much I appreciate your continued love, encouragement, and support these last 2 1/2 years.  I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to share my faith, my family, and my life with you.

If anyone wants to keep in touch, I’ll be keeping my email address (notsodomesticated@yahoo.com), so you are welcome to email me anytime.

Praying you all have a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday, and bright New Year,

Kristen Red heart

You will be missed, but I COMPLETELY understand. Soak up the time with your family – it is fleeting! I tend to go in seasons of lots of blogging or no blogging at all, because life always changes! Hope you guys have a wonderful, joy filled Merry Christmas! :)

I know this wasn’t an easy decision for you. But to everything there is a season. Your season is Mommyhood right now. Don’t let anything distract you from the sweet gift of a little girl you’ve been given the honor to raise! We’ll definitely need updates of Addie–we can’t get enough videos and pictures! Love you! :)

As we grow, we evolve and it’s okay to put your time to better use (not that blogging isn’t but when it gets in the way it is!) I’m going to (finally) add myself to the email list so when you do post I will know that you do. Have a good holiday season.

    • notsodomesticated

Thank you SO much for your comment, Jade. I appreciate the support!

I’ve enjoyed getting to know you a little better through your blog.

You’re making the right decision. You won’t regret it.

And if and when you do come back to blogging, you could call it: “Confessions of the Dearly Wedded: the new adventures of the [formerly] (not so) domesticated newlywed. ;)

Love the idea, Misty. Thanks for your constant support, advice, and kind words. :)

  13. Jana @ Happy Wife Healthy Life

Kristen! I will miss reading your blog so much, but then again, I completely understand how your priorities have changed and you have to do what is best for your family! This just means I will be Facebook stalking you even more! ;) Keep in touch girl!

Aw, I’ll miss your posts! But I totally understand. Motherhood requires prioritizing and not everything makes the cut. I am able to post more often because I work, but I could see my posts decreasing once I quit. You’re a great mom and wife! Hope everything keeps going well!

Awwww it’s tough to say goodbye for the time being, but very understandable. Family def takes precedence, and when it feels like a chore, then something must give. Way to listen to your heart!! <3

    All the best!

I’m so sad to hear this b/c I will totally miss seeing updates and Addie’s picture and smiling face. But on the flip side, I totally get it. I haven’t been feeling the blog bug either because who the heck has the time. Take your time to be a mama and what you think is most important. Nothing is more important!!
