Hi friends!
Sorry this post is a little later than normal. I’ve been in Florida all weekend, and I just got back earlier today.
But I have plenty of pictures to share, to make up for my tardiness. ![]()
As I mentioned last week, I had a short work week. After work (and a doctor’s appointment!) on Thursday afternoon, I headed to the Atlanta airport. After a super quick flight, I was in Sarasota.
On Friday, my mom and I did some shopping. One of our stops was at Build-A-Bear.
My mom had gift cards and coupons that she wanted to use, so we used them to make Molly the Bear.
Molly is pink and chocolate brown, so she’ll match the rest of the décor in Addie’s room.
In her left paw, I added a chocolate “scent,” so she smells like cocoa!
And when you press her right paw, you can hear a special message that I recorded for Addie. ![]()
Too cute, right?? I figure when Addie is older, we’ll go back to the store and get Molly the Bear some cute clothes and accessories. For now, I kinda like her “au naturel.” ![]()
On Saturday, it was time for the main event: my baby shower!
Evidently the theme was “things that pop” …
… because, well, I’m about to pop.
(Veryyy funny, ladies.
)
Since the shower took place at 11am, the food was brunch-themed. We had Belgian waffles with lots of toppings, fruit, a sausage and egg casserole, bacon, and some type of delicious bread that my friend, Pamela, made.
Sadly, I forgot to take pictures of all of the goodies. But trust me, everything was delicious.
And of course, we had cupcakes for dessert. My favorite was the chocolate and caramel cupcake (and the tops were made with mini marshmallows! so cute!).
We played several games, including a cute one where we had to match the candy bar with the appropriate baby-related phrase.
So for example, “Mom’s Tummy After Pregnancy” fit with “Jelly Belly.” And “Epidural” fit with “Life Savers.”
Cute, right?!
My FAVORITE part was a trivia game, in which Brandon and I had to answer various baby-related questions. My friend Lauren (who did most of the party planning!) had asked Brandon to make a video with his answers prior to the shower. I had no idea that he had done the video until the shower! I would show you the video, but Brandon might kill me. Let’s just say that his answers were incredibly sweet and even brought a few ladies to tears. ![]()
After games, I opened gifts. I got plenty of gift cards, which will be a HUGE help. Addie also got plenty of adorable clothes, some books, and plenty of other fun items!
That’s me with Lauren, the amazing party planner! She also had help from my mom and several friends. I appreciate all of their hard work SO much!
And here’s a picture of two sweet girls who are very ready to have a new cousin! ![]()
I can’t thank all of my friends and family enough for coming together to celebrate Addison. She is one loved little girl! ![]()

And now for a pregnancy update!
What is baby Addison doing this week?
According to this website, “… baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and she could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of her pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There’s less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as she continues to develop her own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once she’s outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs.”
Symptoms/Physical Changes:
- Water retention/too tight shoes
- Shortness of breath
- Recently when I’ve been walking on the treadmill, my feet have been hurting. Not sure what that’s all about.
- Acid reflux (Pepcid AC does wonders, but I try not to use it every day.)
- I’ve noticed her hiccupping at least once every day this past week. It feels like a steady tapping on the inside of my stomach. It’s so funny!
Sleep:
Same as usual. I’m able to sleep, but I wake up several times in the night to use the restroom. Or because I’m in an uncomfortable position.
Cravings/Foods I’m Loving:
Nothing interesting in this area. But I’m still hungry quite often!
Activity Level:
I worked out three times last week. It’s mostly just walking on the treadmill at this point.
Events:
Other than the Florida shower, I also had a doctor’s appointment on Thursday. He said everything is measuring as it should! Yay!
Question for ya …
What did you do this weekend?
Did you have today off from work for Presidents’ Day?
Favorite baby shower game?
Any idea why my feet are hurting when I’m walking on the treadmill (but they don’t hurt at other times)?
