But if you have watched it:

Ohhh my goodness!!!!!!

I couldn’t believe that they brought back 3 former “duos” from previous seasons.  I actually really like the idea, but when I saw who 2 out of the 3 couples were, I knew that we were in for a season of serious drama.

OK first of all, for those of you who aren’t obsessed with reality TV like I am, let me give you a quick breakdown of what “Big Brother” even is.

Kristen’s Explanation of Big Brother:

A group of strangers are confined to a house for a summer.  Each week, they compete in a series of competitions.  The first competition is to see who wins “Head of Household” (HOH).  The HOH for the week gets to pick 2 houseguests to nominate for eviction.  Once those 2 houseguests are nominated, they then have a “Power of Veto” (POV) competition.

If one of the nominated houseguests wins the POV, he/she can take themselves off of the block and the HOH then has to nominate a different houseguest for eviction.  Or if someone else wins the POV, they can either choose to use it to take one of the nominated
houseguests off the block or they can choose not to use it and the nominated houseguests stay the same.

At the end of the week, the houseguests vote on which of the two nominated people should be evicted.  One of them goes home, and the whole process starts over again, nominating
a new HOH for the week.

Sound confusing?  It’s really not as complicated as it sounds (or as I make it sound ).

The “Twist.”

This year, they decided to have the houseguests pair up and work as a team.  They win HOH as a team and they get nominated as a team.

The coolest part?  They have 8 new houseguests and 6 former houseguests on the show.

The first pair that showed up made me dread the rest of the season.

Brendon and Rachel.

Now I really don’t want to be mean.  But Rachel is a bit much for me.  OK, she’s way too much for me.  If you’ve watched the show before, you know what I’m talking about.

And surprise of surprises, they’re engaged!!  I really thought that their relationship was going to be a “showmance” and die off when the show stopped taping, but evidently I was very wrong.

The next couple who came through the door made me very very happy!

Jordan and Jeff!

Love them, they are adorable.  You might also recognize them from the Amazing Race.  They competed on that show a couple of seasons ago and didn’t do very well, but they were still fun to watch.

And Jordan won her season of Big Brother, despite the fact that I think she won very few (or none) of the competitions!  She was just friendly and sweet, so how could you not like her?!

Last came one of the most interesting duos in all of Big Brother history…

“Evel Dick” and his daughter, Daniele!

These two were on Season 8 of Big Brother.  Dick basically tormented all of the houseguests, and then went on to win the show.  Dick and his daughter had a tumultuous relationship before going on the show the first time.  And now, they (reportedly) haven’t spoken for 3 years!

It was crazy last night because Daniele literally did not say a word for almost the entire show.  Her dad was the one telling everyone that they haven’t spoken for three years.

But I thought one of the other houseguests had a good point… could they be lying just to get further in the competition?  They had pulled a similar stunt during Season 8 and it seemed to work to their advantage, so maybe they’re doing it again?

The show ended with Rachel winning HOH.  She promised Dick and Daniele that she would NOT put them up for eviction if they let her win, and they believed her.  It will be interesting to see if she follows through with her end of the deal…

So does anyone else have any thoughts?!  Who do you think Rachel will put up for eviction?  And do you see any potential relationships forming already?
