Let me just apologize in advance for my pathetic post. My brain is still completely focused on making our house a home; therefore, I have no creativity left to go towards the blog today.
If you’re still reading, thanks. Obviously you must be a friend or family member, because no one else would stick around after that introduction.
Jen’s theme for WIAW this month is focused on sensible snacking. Normally, I’m all about this.
This past weekend, however, I’m embarrassed to admit that my diet consisted of this:
In case those pictures aren’t obvious enough, I basically lived off of Krispy Kreme donuts (their Key Lime donut was really tasty!), Papa John’s pizza, and cookies. These are all foods that we bought for our friends who helped us move, but we had a ton of leftovers, and I don’t like wasting food.
Plus, I’ve had zero desire to cook.
That being said, I finally went to the grocery store yesterday, and I’m happy to report that apples, bananas, and watermelon were consumed. I still have no desire to cook, but I know that will change once we’re settled!
And it has to change, because I have so many fun kitchen gadgets to try out!
When we were living in our house in Ohio, we didn’t have a whole lot of kitchen space. So many of our wedding gifts stayed at Brandon’s parents’ house. But when we moved to Atlanta, we took all of those things with us.
This weekend when I was unpacking our kitchen supplies, I felt like it was Christmas! I had completely forgotten about some of the incredible gifts we had received!
A juicer?? I’ve been wanting a juicer recently … who knew that I already owned one?!
I am going to be making plenty of soups with this bad boy.
Why have I been spending so much time chopping onions??
Thanks to this mandolin, my scalloped potatoes will no longer take hours to cook!
To those people who bought us these beautiful gifts, I’m so sorry that it’s taken a year and a half to use them. But I promise that I will make up for lost time, because I already have lots of ideas swimming around in my head!!
And finally, thoughts on The Bachelorette?
I still love Jef …
… but what was he wearing at the Rose Ceremony?? Knee-high socks and pleated shorts? You gotta respect the guy’s confidence, but I wonder how seriously Emily can take a guy wearing knee-highs.
Question for ya …
What’s the best thing you’ve eaten this week?
When’s the last time that you’ve had a total junk-food weekend?
What is your favorite healthy snack?
