A day in the life of a 6 month old.

Hello to all of mommy’s readers!

Addie 6 months Jae-2000

My name is Addison.  Well, I think it is.  Mommy and daddy call me so many things, it’s hard to tell what my real name is.  Addison, Addie, Addie-bug, Addie Grace, stinker … I wish they’d just pick one!

Mommy asked if I would do a guest post today.  Now that I’m a big girl (I am 6 months old, you know), I figured I’d give it a go.  I mean, if mommy can do it, how hard can it be?

So for your reading pleasure, here is a day in my life.  I’m going to tell you what happened yesterday, because, well, I can’t really remember anything else.  Hold on to your hats … it gets pretty thrilling around here! Smile

7 am – Mommy and daddy wake me up.  Yesterday morning, I was on my belly with my butt up in the air when they came to get me.  I was so comfy!

Then mommy fed me.  She’s not allowed to change my diaper before she feeds me.  I make it very clear that food comes first!

7:30 – 9am – Mommy and I played.  We played with blocks and stuffed animals and toys that light up.  Mostly I just wanted to put everything in my mouth.

Around 8:00, mom fed me some orange stuff.  It was pretty good, but I think the high chair straps taste even better!

9 am – Mom stuck me back in the crib.  Seriously?  Already?  I slept for about 30 minutes, and then I decided that I was over napping.  I rolled around for a bit before I decided to start crying.  I wanted mom to know that I was not OK with being ignored!

10 am – Mom finally came in and got me.  But instead of carrying me around like I wanted, she stuck me in the swing so I could sleep some more!  The nerve!

11 am – Time for another bottle!  Yay!

11:30 – 1:00 – More playtime!  I bounced in my jumper and rolled around on my playmat.  Mommy also put me in the laundry basket and pulled me around the living room.  It was so fun!

Then she fed me some more.  This time it was green.  I don’t know what it was, but it tasted yummy!

1 pm – Ugh.  The crib again!

2 pm – Hmm that’s weird.  Mommy woke me up earlier than normal.  She fed me and then stuck me in the car.  I hate my car seat.  Don’t worry … I let her know. Winking smile

3 pm – Uh oh.  Why are we at the place where they make me get naked and then poke me???  I don’t like this place!

3:30 – Keep that needle away from me!!! Disappointed smile

4:30 – Back in the car.  That was traumatic.  I think I may be scarred for life.

Nope.  I’m good.

5 –6:45 – I’m often cranky around this time of night.  I’m hungry and tired and ready for bath time.  So I always insist that mommy and daddy carry me around the house.  They aren’t allowed to sit down or put me on the floor!  Last night, mommy went to dinner with a friend, so it was just me and daddy.

I love my daddy!  He always makes me laugh!

6:45 – 7:15 – My favorite time of day!  Bath time with my rubber ducky, followed by a nice warm bottle before hitting the sack!

7:30 – After rolling around the crib for a while (it’s my nightly exercise!), I finally went to sleep.  Gotta get my beauty rest, so I can do the same thing over again tomorrow!

And that was my day!  Now it’s your turn!  Tell me about the day you had yesterday! Smile

So cute! Quick question – what brand is the mirror so you can see her in her carseat? And do you recommend that one? I think I want to invest in one because I never know if baby’s asleep back there or just being quiet! It would be nice to be able to see her + check.

I just went out to the car to look at the brand, and I can’t find the brand name on it! I think we got it at Buy Buy Baby. But it’s just simple and black and fits around the headrest of the backseat. I definitely recommend it. It’s nice to know what she’s doing. It helps to know if she’s sleeping or why she’s crying (ex: sometimes her headbands move down over her eyes, and if that’s the case, I’ll try to take if off when I’m sitting at a traffic light!).

THAT SMILE!! Seriously, way to precious for words.

      Thank you, Kat!!

Yep looks familiar! Question for you: when did you start going to solids 3x a day? Do you have any guidelines you follow for this? Just curious, I think we’ll switch to 2-3x a day next week but I think I need to get on the horse and make some more pureed foods!

I started maybe 2 weeks ago. Right before she turned 6 months. I don’t have any guidelines, but I would recommend keeping some baby prunes in the house in case she starts acting constipated. Addie’s had some difficulty with that since starting more solids. So that’s been our only challenge. Have fun!
