Happy Monday, everyone!! ![]()
How was everyone’s Christmas weekend??
Ours was great … filled with family, lots of laughs, and plenty of good eats!
I plan to share our Christmas eats later this week, so let’s focus on the family aspect of Christmas today, shall we?
Because as much as I love food, I still know that family is what’s truly important … especially around the holidays! ![]()
We spent our Christmas Eve at Brandon’s parents’ house.
Their tree is just a little bigger than ours. ![]()
Have I mentioned that my MIL is Martha Stewart’s long-lost twin? Check out that gorgeous table!
We were also blessed to have Brandon’s brother and his family with us on Christmas Eve.
How cute are they??
When we all first arrived, there was still some work to be done in the kitchen.
So, of course, we utilized our free child-labor. ![]()
While Mary-Allison was working up a sweat in the kitchen, Mia and I sampled some of the M&M cookies that I had brought.
And FYI, they were definitely kid-approved! ![]()
After an amazing dinner, we took part in a new family tradition!
Christmas Bingo! ![]()
![]()
Mary-Allison and Mia were quite the Bingo callers.
But I think something fishy was going on, because Mary-Allison was the run-away winner.
Hmm … I smell a con … ![]()
We had all brought small gifts that were used as prizes for the Bingo winners.
Christi was just a little excited about her gift.
As you can see, her husband was equally thrilled. ![]()
After Bingo, it was time to open gifts!
We were supposed to be scaling down this year … evidently someone missed the memo!
I think Mia believes she actually is Rapunzel. ![]()
I got a lot of fun gifts, but one of my favorite gifts came from the girls.
How cute are those ornaments??
That gift is pretty cute, too. ![]()
By the end of the night, everyone was pretty pooped.
And Brandon was starting to protest my constant picture-taking.
But because he loves me, he eventually cooperated. ![]()
We got home around 10:30 and crashed soon after.
On Christmas morning, we headed to church (to celebrate the real reason for the season!!).
When we got home, I was surprised to find these in my stocking:
I had mentioned these books to Brandon a few days ago, because I wanted some reading material for an upcoming trip we’re taking (details to follow later). But I wasn’t expecting him to buy them for me, since we weren’t exchanging gifts this year.
He never ceases to amaze me! ![]()
Question for ya …
What did you do for Christmas this year?
Get any fun gifts??
Any fun family traditions?
I think Bingo is going to be a yearly event from now on … it was so fun!

I love family traditions! And bingo seems extra fun. That pic of Brandon ‘protesting’ a picture is too funny. I don’t think guys like taking pics in general!

It’s funny because he does like having the picture memories, but he doesn’t like taking the actual pictures!
Looks like you had a very nice Christmas!
I love your outfit!

i need to get a poster like that for my twilight loving sister in law. so then i can really make fun of her!
Oh I know, isn’t it ridiculous?? I actually “won” it in a “White Elephant” exchange at work. And I knew instantly that it would be re-gifted to my Twilight-loving SIL!
I loved the Hunger Games series, I read all three of them over Thanksgiving weekend last year. Christmas was really quiet this year as my husband’s parents were out of town, so we went to a white elephant exchange on Saturday night and played card games at home on Sunday. We’re going to have Christmas with my husband’s parents and our niece next weekend, looking forward to that!
