I have to start this post by stating that although I haven’t said anything publicly (on Facebook, Twitter, etc.) about the tragedy that occurred on Friday, it doesn’t mean that I haven’t been thinking about it every day. I simply feel that words do not do this situation justice. Instead, I am praying. I am calling out to the God of the universe who is still in control. And I am trusting in Him.
Revelation 21:1-4 Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
And now, I’m transitioning into the post that I had already written …
What is the baby doing this week?
According to this website, “Your baby is about eight and a half inches long and weighs one and a half pounds, gaining steadily at a rate of six ounces per week. Much of that weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscle. Those little ears of hers are getting sharper and can hear very loud sounds, from a yapping dog to a jackhammer. Also by now, that fabulous face is almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Is your baby a brunette, a blonde, or a redhead? Actually, right now her locks are white since there’s no pigment yet.”
- She’s been moving around a lot this week! So I’m constantly feeling her kick and punch. Right now, it’s cute. But I have a feeling that it won’t be as cute when she’s 6 pounds!
- I’m feeling more abdomen pain/cramping, which I’m guessing just means things are growing and stretching down there.
- Less acid reflux this week, which is nice!
I had a small bowl of ice cream every night this week. But I wouldn’t call it a “pregnancy craving” … unless I just want to use the pregnancy as an excuse.
- We bought a crib and glider this past weekend! And our baby bedding was finally delivered. I’m excited to start putting things together!
- I have another doctor’s appointment tomorrow. I always enjoy the appointments, because I get confirmation that everything is going as it should!
Finally, can we just get real for a second?
Does anyone else agree that bathing suit shopping while pregnant should be illegal?
Brandon and I are going to Marco Island over the holidays (yep, the same place where we spent the holidays last year). We will be sitting by the pool or on the beach every day. So I need to wear a bathing suit.
(I know, poor me. I have to lay in the sun for a week. Cry me a river.)
I tried on my old bathing suits last week, and that was just hysterical.
So on Saturday, I started out at Von Maur in the juniors section, thinking that I could buy a normal bathing suit, just in a slightly bigger size.
Yeahhh … that wasn’t pretty.
We eventually ended up at a local maternity store, Izzy Maternity.
The sales people at this store were very nice. After trying on a few
too many suits, I did eventually leave the store with a purchase. And believe it or not, it’s a two-piece.
(I wish I rocked the suit with nearly as much confidence as that model!)
This girl is going to need a LOT of tanning lotion before I will be caught dead in that suit.
Actually, let’s be honest. There’s about a 99% chance that I’m going to keep my cover-up on for pretty much the entire week!
Question for ya …
What’s on your agenda for this weekend before Christmas?
Is anyone still trying to finish up their Christmas shopping?
Anyone traveling for the holidays?
Anyone else ever been pregnant and had to wear a bathing suit??
