Good morning!  Today is my first day back to work after seven weeks off. 

Now that I’m returning back to work, I thought that it might be a good time to discuss what it is that I actually do!

I work as a school psychologist.  Many people have no idea what a school psychologist is or does.  First, let’s start with what a school psychologist is NOT:

• A school psychologist is NOT a school counselor.
• A school psychologist is NOT a social worker.
• A school psychologist is NOT a mind reader (yep, got that question when I was in grad school … granted, the person asking may have been intoxicated at the time … ).

So what IS a school psychologist?

According to the National Association for School Psychologists (NASP):
