I cannot believe that I am already at 19 weeks. Wow. Time sure is flying by!
I hope that everyone had a great weekend. Personally, I am loving this week because after Friday, I will have a glorious full week off of work!
Hooray for the Thanksgiving holiday!
I have just a quick pregnancy update this week … nothing terribly exciting to share!
Symptoms this week:
- Less headaches (yay!)
- Some acid reflux
- I had an emotional few days last week. I could be happy, weepy, and snippy all within a 5 minute time frame. It was pretty impressive. Bless my husband for dealing with me.
- I’ve been having this dull ache in my ribs, just below my bra on the left hand side. It’s nothing major, but it’s annoying and fairly constant. I notice it more after I eat. Any thoughts on what it might be?
- I’m still much more into salty foods than sweet, which is the complete opposite of how I was pre-pregnancy. I think I need to stop buying chips because I can’t stop at just a few!
- I had a Chipotle vegetarian burrito bowl twice this week, topped with plenty of guacamole and lots of chipotle hot sauce. So. good.
What’s the baby doing this week?
The baby is about 8 1/2 ounces and measures 6 inches, head to bottom. And according to this website, “… baby’s sensory development is exploding! His/her brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch.” Supposedly the baby can even hear me now! How crazy is that?!
Well, I wouldn’t exactly call this “fun,” but I did have to go out and buy more maternity clothes this weekend. I can still wear some of my pre-pregnancy clothes, but certain items are clearly not going to happen anymore.
So I bought a couple of new tops, two pairs of skinny (maternity) jeans, and a pair of maternity workout pants. Everything was either from Motherhood Maternity or Old Navy.
One pair of skinny jeans is the “under belly” kind, and I’m not so sure how I feel about those. My husband promised they look good, but let’s be honest … he’s far too wise to say anything to the contrary right now!
And now let’s talk giveaways.
Back in March (which feels like a million years ago, at this point!), I told you guys about SendOut Cards.
You can click on the link to go back to that post, but here’s a quick recap about the concept.
Basically with this website, you can personalize cards that then get sent in the mail to friends, family, business colleagues, etc. You can add photos to the cards, include gifts (like Starbucks gift cards!), and choose from a wide variety of different types of cards.
All of this is done online, so it’s super fast and convenient. But the cards themselves aren’t just “e-cards” … they are real cards that are sent in the mail! And the coolest part?
They cost less than $1 a piece … and that includes postage!
If you want to check out the cards, you can visit my mom’s site at: www.SendOutCards.com/jpetters. You can even send out one free card, just to see what it’s like!
As we’re getting into the holiday season, I’ve been using these cards more and more. It’s so much cheaper and easier than running out to Walmart to buy a $4.00 card.
So here’s the giveaway part. My mom is going to give one lucky reader 25 points plus $5.00 in postage, so you can send several of your own cards!
I know all of this sounds cheesy and like a sales pitch, but I swear, I just really like the product. It’s saved me a ton of time and money. So I hope whoever wins the giveaway enjoys the concept as much as I do!
To enter, just leave a friendly comment. Be sure to leave your comment by Tuesday night at 8:00, and then I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday’s post!
Disclaimer: If you decide you like the idea and you order cards through my mom’s site, then she gets some small percent of the profit. But I’m not sharing this idea for her to make money … I just really think it’s a cool idea!
Question for ya …
What did you do this weekend?
What are you doing for the Thanksgiving holiday?
Any idea what this pain in my ribs could be?
